Pemmican is the original native American survival food. It’s packed full of energy and is a great food for backpacking, hunting, or just wandering in the woods. In this video I’ll show you how to render tallow or fat, grind the dried fruit and nuts, and combine everything make a great tasting and energy packed pemmican. For cold weather trekking, I tend to add more fat to the mix. This is the main thing I eat during the day while our hunting, fishing, or just wandering in the woods. The nuts, fruit, meat, and fat are great for sustaining energy and fueling the body through those long days in the field.
